Besides working with Violin March 2014, Wolf notes on recent instruments have puzzled my mind. I have now found that when violins are tuned close to what I call Modal goal (Modal goal - Strad average), D'Addario Zyex strings is not the best choice even if I think they are very price worthy and have this authentic "gut" sound. They are simply too much for such sensitive violins!
