Baking soda

As UV cabinet doesn't tan the wood that much (and too much tanning reduces the wood's surface reflection) I want to find some mild way to enhance the woods contrast and color. Experimenting with a mild solution of baking soda, it behaves somewhat like Old wood Italian golden ground A. Need to find out something with a red-golden hue, like Italian golden ground B. As with my varnish system it has to be "Eco", no nasty chemicals!
