Investigating an old fiddle

A client wanted me to investigate an old fiddle that his father played. It sounds surprisingly nice; Dark, mellow, pure and even over all strings. Very easy to play and this with really bad setup. The soundpost is almost under the bridge foot and too much pushed towards the f-hole, tailpiece with 4 fine tuners. The back has a center joint issue but it has been like this way for a very long time. There is a recording from 1948 and the client think it might be Czech dating before 1900. Hope Maestronetters can help
